Academic Advising
Academic advising is provided by your high school counselor in collaboration with UMD CITS program staff. Set up an appointment with CITS Coordinator, Brooke Rabideau, if you would like to know more about:
- Liberal education requirements
- Transferology support
- Accessing UMD resources, including the tutoring center
- MyU support
MyU Support
Each student needs to activate their MyU account to access their transcripts, grade information, and UMD email. You will receive a letter in the mail with instructions on activating your account. For support initiation your MyU Account, see the resources below:

Logging into your MyU account requires secondary authentication through "Duo Mobile." This requires you to verify your identity using your cellphone. We recommend downloading the app.
Is your school a "No Phone Zone?" bypass having to use your cellphone for Duo Secondary Authentication after the initial setup by follow the guide below:

Tutoring Services
Access UMD's tutoring services for free! Come to campus for tutoring or schedule a virtual appointment. Email the Tutoring Center or Writer's Workshop for a virtual appointment (please email through your UMD email). Contact information is below:

- The second page of the welcome letter includes a voucher for CITS students to redeem at Glensheen Mansion for one free classic tour.

Contact UMD Disability Resources to Request Accommodations for your CITS Course
CITS students may request accommodations through UMD’s Disability Resources Office.
- Complete the Request for Accommodation Form
- Email the DR Office to schedule a welcome meeting: [email protected]
- At the welcome meeting, chat about barriers and accommodations to address them
- DR staff set up accommodations, and the student receives an accommodations letter to share with their CITS teacher.
